Conveniently located off Hwy 406, across from the Pen Centre in St. Catharines, Ontario, we are proud to have nearly 300 members. We are a member owned, and volunteer run club drawing from the entire Niagara Region.
BCON believes in fostering the game of Bridge, by catering to players of all levels. We have games for new players, experienced "card sharks," and everything in between. Games are available most days and we offer both face to face and online. Please keep checking our website for our up to date game schedule. We are pleased to have an active education program, whether you have never played cards before, need a brush up, or want to advance your game to the next level. Of course, with all the brain work that goes on in Bridge, we love to socialize and have fun! We hold regular social events to give everyone a chance to mix, mingle and make new friends. Please join our mailing list to receive up coming information.
We always welcome visitors, and hope you'll come to one of our games. Do you need a partner? We'll do our best to help, just send us an email. If you would like to be added to our email list, or would like more information, please click here (you can unsubscribe at any time.)

Oh the weather outside is frightful! |
How to know if the Club is open?
Although it may not seem like it, this in fact winter, and winter weather can happen at any time. Here is how you will know if the Club is open, and if your game is on.
- If the game at the Club has been canceled due to inclement weather, you will receive an email at the latest, by 2 hours before the game start.
- Please make sure your email with the Club is up to date and that members@bridgewebsemail.com is in your contact list so that it doesn’t go to spam.
- If you are not currently on our email list, but would like to receive emails from us, please send an email to members@bridgewebsemail.com, or through any links on the Club’s website. For those with Cogeco/Bell/Sympatico addresses, see note below.
- Additionally, closure information will be posted on the Club’s website.
- If the game is canceled, we will do our best to move the game online, and we hope you will join us there. Again, information will be provided both by email and on the website.
We do not take the decision to close the Club lightly, and we take the safety of our members very seriously. Even if the weather seems ok, at game start time, we may decide to close the Club based on the forecast, as we are considering the drive home of our members. Please remember that Niagara is a large region, with many microclimates; just because the weather looks fine where you are, doesn’t mean that it’s fine in other parts of the region.
To summarize, if the weather appears questionable, or there is any kind of bad weather forecast for Niagara, please check your email, and check the website two hours before the game to make sure the game is still running.
Note: Do you have a Cogeco/Sympatico/Bell email account? If so, you are likely NOT getting emails from us. If your email is Bell or Sympatico, ALL emails coming from BCON have been blocked. Similarly, many but not all Cogeco accounts are blocked by Cogeco. Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do about this, as the emails are blocked by the provider. We urge you to provide an email address other than Cogeco/Bell/Sympatico. More details on this issue are on our home page, as well as on the bulletin board at the Club.

Review of Bylaws to be presented at 2024 AGM |
The Ontario Government has placed into law the Not for Profit Corporations Act, 2010. The law came into force October 19, 2021 with a 3 year transition period built into the changeover process. That final date is coming later this year.
Together with this new act, your Board has completed a review of the current BCON Bylaws. This review has taken close to 8 months and has included consultation with legal council. We are now ready to inform our membership of this review and update.
We are offering two Q&A sessions for the members with representatives from the Board. The dates will be Thursday, February 22nd following the 999er game and Friday, February 23rd following the Open game.
After completion of this process, it is the intention of the Board to present the document, Proposed ByLaws of the Bridge Centre of Niagara, 2024 for approval at our AGM in late April.
The documents for review are found by clicking here. Please be patient, as this may take a bit longer to download. Note copies will be available at the club.
We look forward to a healthy discussion
For the Board,
Brian Jones,
Secretary, Bridge Centre of Niagara
